Since end of 2024, we are using a new activation system for our serials that make things much more flexible.
You can do a lot of actions in the "Softron License Manager" platform, in any browser. But some operations can only be done in the applications. This is the case for the activation and release of serial numbers in your application.
Important info about activation validity
Unlike with the previous activation system, the new activations require to frequently have an internet connection. Indeed, in order to be able to make the reactivation, and force release of serials possible, we need to check from time to time the activation status with our server.
Of course you can be without internet connection for a few hours, and even days, but after a few days without being able to check your activation on our server, your application will go into DEMO mode.
If you are using a setup that can not have an internet connection, the best is to use dongles.
Activate your serial
In the application you want to activate, on the computer that will run it. Select the "License..." menu:
This window will show up:
To activate a serial, click on "Manage Serials...", the following window will show up:
Then:
- if you already have an account, click on "Sign In with Browser" to log in to your account. This will open a web browser in which you will do the login operation.
- if you don't have an account, click on "Register" to create one.
Once logged in to your account, add your serial to your account. (Note that this action can be done either in the browser or in your application).
Once the serial is available, simply click on the "Activate" button:
That's it, the serial is now activated:
Note that the button now shows "Release". This is what you'll need to do later on if you want to move your license to another Mac.
If you close that window, you will see in the Application Licenses window which serial (or dongle) is available on your Mac:
If you click on the "I" icon next to the "Channels" info, you can see the current status of the activation (this can be useful particularly if you have multiple serials, with some activating options, etc...)
